“Bearing gifts, we traversed afar…”
This blog is inspired by the well-known Christmas carol about the wise men coming from the East to bring the best gifts of their land and to worship Christ, the newborn king.
While we don’t know much about them, we know they were learned men—the sages of their day who studied the heavens for God’s revelations to man. Guided by the star, they came bearing the best gifts they had to offer: gold, frankincense and myhrr.
Frankincense and myrrh were precious essential oils obtained from the gum-resins a special desert tree – rare and costly treasures that were available only to a very select few. Today, we are able to experience the healing powers of these and countless other healing oils.
While we may not have the wisdom or the riches of the wise men, we can and should be “bearing gifts” to each other as we have opportunity. While many have forgotten the precious nature of these original gifts, some of us, through the gift of Young Living Essential Oils, have rediscovered the wonderful uses of these essential oils and oil-enhanced products.
